Brent P. Evans
1984 - 2017
“Take that trip, go snowboarding, get your friends together, whatever IT is, do it. That's Living Like Brent.”

In 2009, everything changed.
Brent was 25 years old when he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a blood cancer that would change the trajectory of his life, and ultimately, the lives of thousands of others.
Like so many cancer patients, Brent found himself facing not just a medical battle, but a financial one. The endless appointments. The mounting bills. The impossible choices between treatment and basic needs.
But Brent refused to let cancer define him. He chose to fight, not just for himself, but for everyone facing the same impossible situation.

He beat cancer. Then he got to work.
After beating Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Brent didn't simply return to normal life. He emerged with a new purpose and a philosophy that would inspire thousands: Live every moment to its fullest. Life is precious. Time is limited. And every moment is an opportunity to truly live.

Turning personal pain into collective purpose.
Throughout his treatment, Brent was surrounded by love. Friends organized fundraisers. Family showed up at every appointment. His community rallied around him in ways that made healing possible.
But Brent knew he was one of the lucky ones. Not everyone has that kind of support system. Not everyone has people who can help cover the bills when treatment makes work impossible.
So he decided to become that community for others.
The Live Like Brent Foundation was born from a simple belief: no one fighting cancer should have to fight alone. Not for emotional support. And certainly not for financial survival.
Direct help. No overhead. No red tape. Just paying rent, covering utilities, buying groceries for people in active treatment who need someone in their corner.

From one man's vision, a network of compassion grew. Hospital social workers became partners. Communities rallied. And thousands of cancer patients received the financial relief they desperately needed.

When his cancer returned, Brent faced it the same way he lived.
In 2017, Brent's Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma returned. This time, the outcome was different.
Brent passed away surrounded by family and friends who loved him, people whose lives he had touched with his irrepressible spirit, his generosity, and his unwavering commitment to helping others.
He was 33 years old.
But his legacy, the foundation he built, the patients he helped, the philosophy he lived, that didn't end. It was just beginning to grow.
The Mission Continues
What began as one man's determination to help others has grown beyond anything Brent could have imagined.
Today, 10 hospital partners trust us to help their patients. Over 1,500 people have received relief when they needed it most.
By 2030, we're bringing Comfort Funds to 50 hospitals across America. More hospitals means more patients helped. More families kept whole.
Brent started this movement. Now it's your turn to carry it forward.
